Default Self-determination

Okay, so, I want to get this out in the community and get support for it.

I love titles. I think they rock. However...

The title tracks, in general, aren't always appealing.

For example, the luck title track progresses from "Lucky" to "Favored". Now, although "Favored" is a higher rank, I'd much preffer my title to display as "Lucky". Currently, your only option is to avoid ever increasing your lucky title track again once you reach "Lucky" status. That's great, as long as you don't mind never using lockpicks or playing games of chance again.

I think it would be very logical and EXTREMELY appealing if we were able to select our title displayed, not only from the tracks we've achieved, but from the titles we've achieved. Obviously, someone who's never achieved "Lucky" shouldn't be allowed to display it, but someone who has, and ends up with a less-desirable title(like "Favored") should be able to keep displaying "Lucky", if they so choose.

There's a number of title tracks I refuse to progress on because of the current state, and with the ever increasing amount of benefits for titles, this means you must choose between aesthetics and utility.

Please respond on this, and pass the word! We should be able to use whatever titles we've earned WITHOUT being forced to use specific ones on a track. Agreed?

The various tiers are meant to show determination and accomplishment. Your suggestion defeats the purpose, I would personally never use this but if you want to forever be a r1 then... whatev lol.

I agree with this idea. It's one of those things that, aside from the bit of work required to create, only a jackass would dislike.
One of the Norn title tracks is "Slayer of Demons", which sounds great and I'd be using all the time, but further ranks have names like "Slayer of Wurms", and I think "Slayer of Heroes".

/signed, as long as it keeps your NUMBER next to your name. That way, titles are customizable and fun :-)

This is a great idea, I have Slayer of Nightmares now and that sounds much cooler than Slayer of Wurms imo. You get the idea.

I've seen this idea suggested before, I signed it then and I'll sign it now. Retroactive titles are an excellent idea. My ele deserves to be forever charmed, not lucky. Come on now.

I've dealt with it by not playing games of chance, but in the interests of better treasure hunting, I'll have to do it eventually. :-\ That is, of course, unless this gets implemented.

They should change the titles rather than implement this. If this is the problem, it is only because the titles don't reflect the rank. Though, the rank is the rank. To display a lesser rank is to lower the credit of your status. It's more impressive a 'Slayer of Heros' than a 'Slayer of Demons.' If it were so important, you could simply not progress in the title track.

I've posted this on a few boards, and one thing people keep saying is "impressive". If you don't have "GW:EN", then neither "Slayer of Demons" or "Slayer of Heroes" has any meaning to you beyond what it says... someone who kills demons, or someone who keeps flagging Tahlkora too far ahead on the radar.

If the number beside it was kept in tact(perhaps marked with different brackets to show that the actual title earned is a higher level, say "Slayer of Demons[7]", so people who want impressions can differentiate between themselves and people at "Slayer of Demons(6)".

And not progressing in a title track is an idea, however, it has consequences. You shouldn't have to choose between powering up your pve-only skills and keeping a title that doesn't look lame.
